Introduction- The Bandwagon opinions

Why do people follow the popularity when it comes to music?
When songs are in the charts we tend to use these as a symbol of communication more than literally liking the song.
We all have our differences but some people seem to “follow the crowd”.  It can be a good thing,it can be a bad thing.

The present is clearly telling us that songs are going downhill and there’s nothing else to sing about. The knew profound Dubstep is the most popular but even that has its ups and downs. *literally* You will get your odd one hit wonder, and someone that’s climbed the ladder with their unique talent, but the ability to listen to a REALLY good song is unlikely because a band will have covered it or remastered an original.

What i’m trying to say is broaden your music taste.
The stereotypical statures hold that certain groups will only listen to certain music… WHICH IS untrue but it’s become that widely known, that we have all stuck to this because we don’t like change.

I am eighteen. I am female. I have black hair. I wear Eyeliner. I wear black clothes. Would you see this as a “greb, emo, goth” yes you probably would as you only know the description of me and have already judged me, you will think I only listen to metal, rock, screamo etc..

I am eighteen. I am female. I have a brother who likes techno music. I have black hair. I have a sister who likes pop, dance and r&b. I wear Eyeliner. My dad loves reggae and I wear black clothes. My mother listens to motown and opera.
You now know my family have a mixed music taste, it doesn’t mean I will have a different taste as genres cross mix and new genres are formed everyday.

I am eighteen. I am female. I have black hair. I wear Eyeliner. I wear black clothes. I like Eminem. I like Metallica. I like Kasabian. I like Blondie. I like Kate Nash. I like chase and status. I like Linkin park. I like Newton Faulkner. I like Calvin Harris. I like Gary Numan. I like Oasis. I like Jessie J. My Best friend Loves Lil Wayne,my other best friend loves Fleetwood mac.

These are just some singers that show people don’t have to cling and smother a certain genre, your music knowledge becomes stronger the more you widen your taste. I’m not saying we all need to form together, join hands and start a love train but we just need to consider music as a whole.

If the music chart isn’t good this week why not go backwards?
Liking older music from the 60’s doesn’t mean your not up to date, it just shows what type of person you are on the inside rather than outside.

With my upcoming blogs I’m going to review songs and show you the ways of going to past, present and what hopes for the future. I will try not to be biased (apart from this first blog)
